Is GhostChat free?
Yes. GhostChat is free to download and use. A small ad banner at the bottom of the screen pays for the servers.
When exactly does a message disappear?
A message you receive stays hidden until you tap to reveal it. From that moment, it's deleted for both of you 15 minutes later, and it can't be brought back in the app.
Is it end-to-end encrypted?
No. Messages are encrypted in transit between your phone and the GhostChat server and deleted after reading, but they're not end-to-end encrypted. If you need that, use an app that offers it.
What do I need to sign up?
Only a username and a password. GhostChat never asks for your phone number, email address or contacts.
Which phones does it work on?
Any Android phone running Android 7.0 or newer. There's no iPhone version yet.
How do I become a tester?
Join our tester Google Group, then opt in on Google Play and download the app. The tester page walks you through all three steps.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings and tap Delete account. Without the app, use ghostchat.cloudm.one/delete. Deletion is permanent. Read more in our privacy policy.
